Panchakarma, a Sanskrit word meaning “five actions,” is a procedure used to clean out toxic materials that have accumulated during the body’s metabolic process. These toxic materials are typically a result of disease, poor nutrition, and/or environmental toxins. There are five Panchakarma procedures used to detoxify the body: Vamana, which is therapeutic vomiting that expels toxins from the body; Virechana, which is therapeutic purgation that induces loose motions; Nasyam, which includes therapeutic nasal drops followed by facial and nasal massage; Anuvasana Vasti, which consists of a medicated oil enema; and Kashayam Vasti, which consists of a medicated herbal decoction enema. The Panchakarma program at YO1 is tailored uniquely for each guest after taking the guest’s health issues and dosha under consideration. After Wellness Counselling, the guest will be advised which Panchakarma therapy is suitable for their mind-body type during their 7-10 day stay. Typically, a complete Panchakarma Program that includes all five steps requires two months of therapy.

THE YO1 APPROACH
Relieve stress and emotional imbalance with this rejuvenating therapy. In this therapy, the guest is given a soothing facial oil massage followed by steam application on the face. Later, Ayurvedic oil is dropped into the nostrils and gently massaged. This therapy stimulates the central nervous system and help guests suffering from sinusitis, nasal allergies, nasal polyps, and migraine experience relief. This therapy can also be effective in reducing neurological disorders.
Cleanse your body of toxins with this detoxifying therapy. In this therapy, a drink is made out of vomit-inducing ingredients such as madanaphala, licorice, and calamus root tea. This therapeutic form of vomiting, known as a medicated emesis, is done for the aggravated kapha dosha and dislodges toxins and mucous from the respiratory and gastrointestinal tract. If the drink does not trigger vomiting, it is induced by rubbing the tongue.
Rid your body of unwanted toxins with this cleansing therapy. This medicated purgation therapy cleanses the excess Pitta and purifies blood by clearing out toxins from the body. This procedure mainly focuses on the toxins that are accumulated in the liver, blood, and gallbladder. This is a powerful treatment aimed at reducing the body’s heat (pitta), and clearing liver, gallbladder and colon congestion. This therapy helps improve rashes, itching, skin inflammation and acne while also improving digestion and boosting metabolism.
